Heavy Hurt 02:54
You get woken by the hurt So heavy that your heart is fit to burst already Be it pressure or be it weight That assigns your fate, you’re doomed And you’re glad that it’s still dark when you get up cos the panic doesn't start Till the suns up They keep telling you to talk when you just want to walk away It’s not the life you’re given it’s the life that you choose When staring blankly is all that you can do while You’re watching hours tick by Impatient for the day to end I've seen enough to know That your home is no longer your home It’s just place where you left some stuff Like dignity and trust And your mind
2.
Spent some time last night reading your words You must have the saddest voice, I've never heard But if there’s one thing I've learned, its that love must be earned And the work is its own reward Imagine myself in your shoes But there never been a doubt of what I would do When the mind starts to cloud and you’re far too proud To admit that you might need some help We fucked up, when we were young Wiser heads should have led us home when the night was done The sun came up and forced us to bed To lie with our doubts and rest our empty heads I stumbled across a better place Where quiet nights are welcome and the days stay the same The trick of the trade is to live every day Like you’re preparing for death If I fall or you fall, we’ll find some way to crawl If the path is unknown. there’s no shame in going home again We’ll happily betray, the things that led us astray If there’s one thing to know, is the light will lead you home The light will lead you home The light will lead you home Between careful steps, we try to forget As the light, it leads you home

So where do you go when your problems Won’t solve themselves and only seem to get worse? We drove through the heart of the country Just to find that the blood stopped pumping Some time ago and the corpse was left to get cold Don’t feel much like adventure any more I’d rather sleep in my own bed that on a stranger’s floor And remembering all the times we had Doesn't stop you feeling bad, it just makes you feel alone I know I'm not as grateful as I should be Spent so long being angry and what did that achieve? So sit back and try to come to terms With the fact you’ll never stop or learn That there’s no shame in a life That others call a waste of time When they've barely lived themselves Some nights make you realise that you’re paying a healthy price For not finding another way to spend your time Is this hole you've fallen into, a grave or an escape route Take your chances and just keep digging Till you’re stuck with no way back When you’re up against it, that’s when you’ll push right through it

You started telling stories, you started telling lies, In order to escape, every time she cries Your escape is never subtle, it’s quick and it’s cruel You’d rather to lose the girl you love, than ever lose your cool You can't ignore the warnings, you can't ignore the signs That you are falling away, from the hope of a happy life And who knows where you’ll land? The centre of the city is an easy place to hide Alone in quiet corners, the guilt won’t subside The eyes that spy you, from one end of the bar A pertinent reminder of all the times you went too far You can't ignore the warnings, you can't ignore the signs That you are falling away, from the hope of a happy life How long can you survive before the quicksand of regret Envelops you slowly, before you’re in over your head? At least you’ll be surrounded by a suffocating warmth The kind you haven’t felt since you ran from your home The last words you said to her, the very last thing If your look is paralysing, I don’t want to feel a thing
